It is a process whereby a contained room space can be cooled, dehumidified or heated to a desired temperature.

This process also cleans the air and controls the amount of air discharged in the room

Cooling Mode

Hot air from the room is pulled through a filter into the airconditioning unit by a fan, a refrigerant sealed within the unit in an evaporator coil absorbs the heat. As the refrigerant absorbs the heat it changes into a gas and then is pressurised and passed into a condensers coil until it turns back into a liquid. To aid this process cooler air from outside it blown across the condenser coil.

Cold air is then passed back into the room and the heat generated by the process is discharged to the outside. This cycle is continually repeated to maintain the required room temperature.

Dehumidification Mode

As a by product of the cooling process the room air is dried and the water produced is discharged outside.

Heating Mode

Heating is achieved by a heat pump unit which reverses the refrigeration process, which is very efficient

Did You Know...

The ideal working temperature for personnel is approximately 21 degrees yet in summer conditions office temperatures can rise to 26 degrees or more.

At 24 degrees productivity can drop by 15%
